A large Chinese cloisonné enamel 'birds' vase

The vase is decorated to the shoulders with two Buddhist-lion mask handles suspending loose rings. The body is decorated with four cartouches enclosing different birds, all reserved on a cracked ice ground. The foot and neck are each decorated with bands of scrolling flowers, and the rim is decorated with a grape vine band. Provenance: Property from the estate of Anton Philips and heirs.
