The jade plaque is delicately inlaid with mother of pearl and other hardstones depicting three boys at play amongst trees in a fenced garden, the reverse is decorated with gilt of a scene of scholar in a mountainous landscape. The plaque fits on an intricately carved wood stand which is supported by a large recumbent spinach-jade buffalo.
