A ROMAN GOLD RING WITH A THREE QUARTERS PORTRAIT OF A CHILD, 1ST/2ND CENTURY AD

Reference: ART600939

A large hollow gold ring with a cameo of a boy shown three quarters facing towards the right. Some have suggested that these are portraits of the young Caracalla. It might be difficult to argue this other than for the determination of Septimius Severus to propagate a dynasty, this could be an argument in favour of an imperial attribution.
