A GREEK BRONZE PHIALE, 4TH-5TH CENTURY BC

Greek bronze phiale with an omphalos and fluted decoration around the exterior of the base. Inside between the fluting and the omphalus there is a twisted rope design engraved upon the surface. Four ducks are engraved, equally spaced from each other, an interesting detail and rare to find normally in this context. On the top of the ophalos a flower is engraved with 15 petals.
