A Roman carnelian intaglio showing a bust of Sol(Helios) facing left wearing a radiate crown with traces of drapery on his shoulders.
Red/orange carnelian, with a small chip on the lower left edge, not affecting the subject. This stone, of very good style, shows the god as a strong young man, often similar to representations of Alexander.
