Lot 1763 A BYZANTINE GOLD PENDANT CROSS, CIRCA 6TH-7TH CENTURY AD

A Byzantine gold pendant cross made from gold sheet. The cross is formed from hollow tubes which expand towards the finials. At the centre of the cross there is a raised setting containing an engraved rock crystal.
The finials are composed of hemispherical caps decorated with filigreed globules (which have come loose).
