Composed of four oval plates, consists of a bronze band forming a rim and supporting two arched bands that cross over the top. Between these arched bands there are triangular plates of iron.There are holes near the rim of the edge to secure the leather lining. The bronze and iron are amazingly well preserved. Surviving examples of Sasanian armor are extremely rare, particularly in such condition for this helmet. The metalsmiths were renowned for their craftsmanship, the Sassanian heavy cavalry was famous for its prowess in battle. 21 cm. height, 23 cm. length, 18 cm. width. 1528 grams
