Reference: ART60035

The rectangular socle, in the form of a Roan altar, surmounted by spherical finial, twin handles on each side made from three straight strutts, the altar is decorated on one side with a garland and attached ribbons in relief at the front, with incised vines on the upper and lower mouldings, incised bands of zigzag and chevrons on the upper and lower mouldings or the back.
The vines shown on one side of the fitting suggest that the request of the fittings would have been Bacchic in nature.
