A large garnet intaglio with Athena standing with her shield by her side turning right, her spear is also held by her right arm. Her left arm is held forward with her head slightly inclined upwards. The intaglio is flat on the carved side and cabouchon on the back. Given Athena's association with the Seleucid dynasty there is a distinct possibility that this seal has a connection to them. The slightly elongated figure is indicative of the mannerism that was dominant in the Hellenistic period.
