Up for auction is a fine and characterful knotted rug of Central Asian origin: A semi-antique Yomud rug from Turkmenistan, crafted around 1950. This exquisite piece presents the famous, traditional pattern of the Yomud tribe. The vibrant, deep red inner field is seamlessly woven with the distinctive, diamond-shaped Kepse-Gül motifs, which shine in harmonious 06 nuances of ivory, indigo blue, and warm earth tones. The fine ornamentation continues in the surrounding border, which is characterized by a classic running dog (wave) design. The rug features a dense weave and a pleasantly tactile wool quality. It is in good, ready-to-use condition with a beautiful, even pile height and complete fringes.
