The maiden portrayed nude and standing next to a tree-stump, her right arm truncated. The pose and overall form of this model seems to be loosely derived from Bertel Thorvaldsen’s 1821 work ‘Venus with an apple’.

Diameter at the base 38.5 cm.
On an associated fluted pedestal base, height 65 cm.
