Large Sentani village feastbowl. Collected by Jac Hoogerbrugge in 1961. Bowls/food platters like this were not private property, but belonged tot he clan or the village to be used in feasts. The O. had 2 nearly identical pieces.Carved long ago, 10 or 20 years before the war, so approcimately 1925 by a bapa from Ifarwho was well known for his beautifull plates. Stable crack. 120 by 30 by 7 cm.
