Wood, patina, metal. Gigantism is known among the Dan tribes neighbouring the We-Guere. It is seldom encountered among We masks, and in any case remains rare. This very large We warrior mask is of excellent quality, not in the least because of the patina and the expression. It works wonderfully well on this large scale. The mask is remarkably thin walled so it could still be worn with some comfort. We-Guere warrior masks are always impressive, this one doubly so. Old Dutch collection. Height 47 cm.
