Wood, pigments. Refined and impressive mask. There is a similar mask in the AHDRC database of African Art number 0046515, which was with Christies in 2003. Our mask most likely is the companion to that one. The sculpting of the eyes and nose is very distinctive, as is the partition of the face in red and black blocks. Old French collection. Height 61 cm.
