A BABYLONIAN DUCK WEIGHT IN LIGHT BROWN AGATE, 2ND MILLENIUM BC

A large Babylonian duck weight in light brown/beige agate, the choice of stone has allowed the artist to leave a light vein by the head of the sleeping duck. This gave the weight a great deal of realism probably reflecting a species of duck known at the time.
