FOUR MITANNIAN FRIT CYLINDER SEALS, CIRCA 1600-1300 BC

Four frit/faience cylinder seals from the Mitannian Empire. These seals are very common and it is possible that they were used a beads rather than seals for individuals. They usually have very schematic designs as seen here: palm trees, figures, seated or standing and schematic animals. Btween 31 - 28 mm high. Frit with a turquoise glaze. Mitannian Empire 1600-1300 B.C.
