Lot 334 A PERSIAN STEEL DAGGER (KHANJAR), PERSIA 20TH CENTURY

A Persian curved dagger (khanjar), featuring a finely shaped steel blade with a gently curved profile, housed in its original matching scabbard. The dark steel hilt and scabbard are decorated with elaborate gilt calligraphic cartouches, floral motifs and scrolling arabesques. The hilt is fitted with a curved pommel and decorative terminal, while the scabbard features a matching ornamental design, suspension fittings and a pointed chape.
The hilt bears gilt Persian inscriptions, including the signature ʿAmal-e Asad Allah (عمل اسد الله), meaning "Work of Asad Allah."
