Lot 2 A PERSIAN THREE-PRONGED ʿALAM, ZAND DYNASTY

A finely worked Persian ʿAlam' (ceremonial standard finial), of three-pronged form with elongated, tapering blades, the central blade rising above the two lateral blades. The broad lower section is finely engraved with stylised vegetal and animal ornament, with traces of gilt decoration, above a long tubular socket for attachment to a ceremonial pole.
