Lot 8 A SAFAVID TINNED COPPER POURING VESSEL, PERSIA 17TH-18TH CENTURY

A fine Safavid copper pouring vessel of shallow ogee-sectioned form, with a raised circular foot, broad vertical rim and a long, curved tapering spout. The rounded body is extensively engraved with intricate floral and scrolling vegetal ornament arranged within geometric compartments. Around the rim runs a band of nastaʿlīq calligraphy enclosed within cartouches, alternating with decorative floral motifs. The body and foot are further embellished with densely engraved arabesques, flowering stems and geometric panels, creating a richly articulated surface. Height 14 cm.
