Persian manuscript leaf on paper, written in elegant black Nastaʿlīq script, containing verses from a celebrated ghazal of the classical Persian lyrical tradition, associated with the poetic repertoire of Hafez of Shiraz. The verses are accompanied by a finely executed Persian miniature depicting a courtly encounter, enclosed within a blue floral border heightened with gold. The composition is further surrounded by an extensive gold-sprinkled margin, with delicate floral and foliate illumination 23 by 15
