Lot 215 A COBALT-BLUE GLASS SPRINKLER FLASK, 9TH–11TH CENTURY

A finely blown cobalt-blue glass sprinkler flask of elegant proportions, distinguished by its globular body, tall attenuated neck, and gently flaring rim. Raised on a neatly folded circular foot, the compressed spherical body expands in smooth, uninterrupted curves before tapering gracefully into a long cylindrical neck that narrows at the midpoint and broadens slightly toward the mouth. The wide, delicately everted rim is fire-polished, completing the vessel's refined silhouette.
The flask is fashioned from deep cobalt-blue glass of exceptional richness, its glossy surface softened by extensive iridescence and mineral accretions.
