Arabic manuscript on paper, an ijaza featuring a top panel with large black Thuluth script in praise of the Prophet. The central panel contains three lines of a Prophetic hadith in black Naskh script. The lower panel bears the signature of the scribe's teacher, Muhammad bin Ismail al-Hamidi, granting the ijaza to his student, Ahmed ????. Mounted on cardboard, the manuscript is further embellished with polychrome illuminated floral margins.
Including frame: 58 by 49 cm.
Calligraphy panel: 26 by 18 cm.
