A large Ottoman Suzani Mihrab mosque band, possibly originating from Istanbul or Bursa, finely worked on a cotton ground and richly embroidered with thick silver zari threads. The central field is inscribed with elegant Islamic calligraphy, framed by luxuriant floral borders executed in polychrome silk threads. Delicate flowering vines and stylized blossoms create a harmonious contrast to the bold calligraphic panel.
