Lot 175 AN OTTOMAN SILVER ROSEWATER BOTTLE, 18TH-19TH CENTURY

An Ottoman rosewater bottle consisting of a globular base, a long slender neck, and a decorative finial. The rounded base is decorated with repoussé floral and scrolling vegetal motifs arranged in symmetrical panels. From it rises a tall, narrow neck articulated by moulded rings and decorated with spiral, rope-like relief, which enhances the sense of height. The bottle is topped with a small finial of stylized leaf forms around a bud, echoing the floral decoration of the body and reinforcing its association with rosewater. Weight: 325 gr.
