A dense triangular midsection and a slender head terminating in a straight central prong flanked by two gently undulating prongs. At the base of each prong appears a small etched floral motif, while the main body is richly decorated with densely engraved foliate designs surrounding an abstract cruciform emblem at the center. The trident, or trishula, is an ancient and powerful symbol in Hindu mythology, representing divine authority and cosmic power. It is most famously associated with the god Shiva and, according to certain traditions, is also believed to have been the weapon used to sever the original head of the elephant-headed god Ganesha.
