A Persian steel dagger with a curved, double-edged blade featuring a pronounced central ridge and a distinctive split, or forked, tip. The lower section of the blade bears gold-inlaid inscriptions in nasta‘liq script, likely verses or invocations. Both the hilt and sheath are crafted from steel and lavishly engraved and gilded with figural and animal hunting scenes, a motif closely associated with Persian royal imagery. The decoration depicts princely horsemen surrounded by an array of animals and birds, evoking themes of nobility, power, and refinement. Length 49 cm.
