Pair of Ottoman manuscript leaves on paper, 19th century, with opaque colors heightened with gold and Arabic text. One leaf depicts a childbirth scene illustrating a medical case discussed in a fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) text; the other shows a celebratory gathering accompanying a fiqh-related manuscript. Both removed from illustrated books and later framed.
