Lot 518 AN OTTOMAN METAL THREAD EMBROIDERED CURTAIN (SITARA), EARLY 20TH CENTURY

Rectangular in shape, richly embroidered with gilt metal threads on a red cotton ground. The composition is divided into two sections: the upper section features a rectangular panel inscribed with text, positioned above floral and laurel wreath motifs; the lower section presents a floral swag surmounted by two cartouches containing inscriptions. The entire piece is framed by a continuous border of repeating vegetal motifs.

Inscriptions: "May peace and blessings be upon you, O Imam of the pious." Beneath this are two cartouches bearing the Kalimat al-Tawhid.
