Lot 515 AN OTTOMAN TABLE CLOCK, TURKEY 1928

This authentic Ottoman table clock features numerals in the Ottoman script, while the calendar section is in Turkish. Crafted in 1928, it dates from the transitional period between Ottoman Turkish and the modern Turkish language—resulting in a rare and fascinating hybrid design. Entirely handmade, the clock remains in full working order.

There is a small period restoration on the back, and while it bears signs of regular use, it remains in remarkably good condition for a nearly century-old, everyday object.
