A finely tailored, hip-length Ottoman jacket of rose-toned velvet, richly embroidered in dense metallic thread. The surface is almost entirely covered with symmetrical scrolling arabesques and stylized floral motifs, arranged in panels and borders that articulate the garment’s structure. The back features a prominent medallion-like composition, while the sleeves are fully ornamented from shoulder to cuff. The open front is edged with thick embroidered bands, suggesting former closures. The light-colored lining contrasts with the opulent exterior. Slight wear and fading to the velvet and tarnishing of the metallic threads are consistent with age.
