Lot 526 AN OTTOMAN ILLUMINATED QURAN, WRITTEN BY HUSEYIN BIN ALI, TURKEY AND DATED 1142 AH/1729 AD

An Arabic manuscript on paper, a complete Quran, 375ff., each page with 15 lines written in bold black naskh script within a gilt and polychrome borders. Surah headings in white thuluth within gilt and polychrome cartouches, two opening biofolia with gold and polychrome decoration. Gold verse markers outlined in black and pointed in blue and red dots, gilt occasional marginal " Hizb and Juz " markers. The last page signed " written by Huseyin bin Ali, student of Al- Haj Muhammed Es-Sarai and dated 1142AH". In original leather binding which is decorated with gold. Dimensions: 15 by 10 cm
