Rectangular, embroidered in silver and gilt metal threads and with applique panels and bands containing thuluth inscription on a deep blue ground, the upper field with crimson band surrounded by roundels, the central panel flanked by small roundels, lower field with the tughra of the Sultan in gilt thread, ground and borders decorated with arabesques and vegetal motifs in silver and gilt thread, backed.
265 by 150 cm.

The inscriptions comprise:
In the upper two bands: Surah Al-Aḥzab v. 45- v.46 on a red ground.
In the two roundels: the shahadah
In the central panel: Quran, surah Az-Zumar, verse 73-74
In the twelve small roundels: The names of the four Orthodox Caliphs, the Imams Hassan and Husain, and the rest of the '' al-ʿashara al-mubashsharun''.
In the lower cartouche: The tughra of Sultan Mahmud II and dated 1246AH/ 1830AD.
