A SILVER INLAID METAL AXE HEAD, 20TH CENTURY

The slightly downward-curving blade with central arrow emerging from stylised lion's jaw, the ribbed shaft with four butt-spike, inlaid excessively in silver with inscriptions of different Quran verses in thuluth script. On each side a cartouche enclosing a horseman in a hunting scene with birds perched amongst flower and surrounded by inscriptions.
