A LARGE GILT BRONZE BOWL, 19TH CENTURY

A large bowl with everted rim and standing spreading foot, engraved excessively with floral motifs and Arabic calligraphy in thuluth script. Decorated around the rim with Quranic verses of surah al-Ikhlas and surah al-Nas. The body is further decorated with a band enclosing Al-Fatiha and surah Al-Asr, between two bands with a dense design of lower heads and foliage scrolls.
