Lot 921 AN ILLUMINATED QURAN, TURKEY, DATED 1293 AH/1878 AD

Arabic manuscript on paper, 298 leaves, 15 lines to the page written in naskhi script in black ink with diacritics and vowel points in red and black, gold discs decorated with blue and red dots between verses, margins ruled in red and gold, catchwords, illuminated devices in outer margins, sura headings written in thuluth in white on illuminated rectangular panels, two illuminated double-page frontispiece.
