CALLIGRAPHIC COMPOSITIONS ON NATURAL LEAF, TURKEY, 19TH-20TH CENTURY

Arabic compositions applied on to natural leaves in gold thuluth, mounted on black archival boards, glazed and framed.
In the form of a stork, the text comprising a Sufi verse, signed Abd al-Ghani and with date AH 1311/AD 1893.
The leaf 33 cm. long, with frame 47 by 37 cm.

The text reads:
Aşk-ı Mevlânâ ile hayretzede
Mevlevî Seyyid Hasan Leylek Dede
Awe-struck by love for Mevlana [ie Rumi]
Is Mevlevi Seyyid Hasan Leylek Dede'
