A lacquered wooden katana’kake 刀掛け (sword stand), designed to display three swords. The stand is finished in dense reddish-gold nashiji 梨子地 (sprinkled gold lacquer) and features detailed inlaid panel with repoussé silver appliques.

At the center, two scholars are depicted examining a handscroll while turning toward a karako カラ子 (Chinese boy). Behind them, a cloud motif with flying birds and a pagoda rooftop is partially inlaid with mother-of-pearl raden 螺鈿. The upper and lower bands of the panel are adorned with refined raden inlaid floral motifs, with three more flowers decorating the reverse.
