A striking bajô’jingasa 馬上陣笠 (horseback samurai hat) crafted from tightly woven rattan and finished with a black lacquer coating. The front is decorated with a gold-lacquered crest 紋 (mon) depicting an ivy leaf in a hexagon 細六角に蔦 (hoso rokkaku ni tsuta).
The interior is coated in a dark red lacquer.

In good original condition with some signs of wear consistent with age and a well-developed patina. Some lacquer loss visible on the underside of the visor. Please refer to the photos for a clear condition reference.
Jingasa 陣笠 (“war hat”) refers to a type of headgear commonly worn by samurai and ashigaru 足軽 (foot soldiers).
