A Bizen’ware 備前 stoneware okimono 置物 in the form of a resting rabbit.
The figure is naturalistically modelled in red clay, covered with a dark brown glaze with a subtle amber undertone. The rabbit is shown lying with its legs tucked beneath its body, one long ear gently folding down over its head, other falling down its side.
Period: Japan – Early 20th century (Late Meiji-Taishô period)
