A suzuribako writing box with an extra compartment, its lid decorated in gold makie-lacquer depicting various flowers. The tray of the box for the ink-stone shows chrysanthemums and cherry-blossoms drifting on running water in gold-makie-lacquer. With a gourd-shaped ink-stone and a folding-fan shaped water dropper. The trays of the box are sprinkled nashiji-gold lacquered. 21 by 12.2 cm.
