A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE 'DEER' 'KRAAK PORCELAIN DISH, WANLI PERIOD (1572-1620)

The dish is finely decorated to the centre with a star-shaped panel enclosing two birds in flight above a deer in a lake scene, all surrounded by further lappet-shaped panels enclosing alternating precious objects and peach blossoming branches separated by brocade designs. The reverse is decorated with roundels enclosing lingzhi fungus.
