A LARGE CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE KRAAK PORCELAIN CHARGER, WANLI PERIOD (1572-1620)

A large Chinese porcelain charger with a bracket-lobed rim, finely decorated in vibrant tones of cobalt blue with a large censer filled with peony, chrysanthemum and lotus blossoming branches growing from ornamental rocks in a fenced garden, all surrounded by further lappet-shaped panels enclosing alternating precious objects, citron, peach and pomegranate branches separated by brocade designs. The reverse is decorated with roundels enclosing lingzhi fungus.
