A CHINESE AGATE CARVED RAT, QING DYNASTY (1644–1911)

The small creature is carved crouching with its head resting on its front paws, its hind legs tucked close to its body and its tail flicked up towards its right haunch. Its face is carved with beady eyes, and small round ears.
