A CHINESE HUANGHUALI CIRCULAR INCENSE STAND, XIANGJI, 17TH CENTURY

The elegantly shaped incense stand is constructed with a circular top, supported by three slightly arched segments above a curved narrow waist, the apron continuing down the sides of the slender cabriole legs, carved elegantly with mythological animals( dragons, flying fish, horse, elephant, turtle and deer amidst crushing waves, terminating in upward curling feet carved with dragon heads, resting on a circular base carved with a circular panel enclosing a carved drawing striding amongst waves.
