A CHINESE FLAMBE-GLAZED VASE, 20TH CENTURY

Elegantly potted with ovoid body and waisted neck rising to an everted rim, the slender neck embellished with two raised horizontal ribs in imitation of bamboo, covered in a rich flambé glaze of dark purplish-red tone, suffused with delicate pale blue and white streaks, thinning to crackled beige at the rim. The bottom is unglazed.
