A CHINESE SILK EMBROIDERED DRAGON PANEL, QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)

A Chinese silk embroidered panel, probably from a woman’s skirt, showing a dragon with the flaming pearl amongst clouds above crushing waves. The embroidery is on a pale red ground in creams, golds and blues in satin stitch. The dragon’s head, feet and scales and other details are in couched gold thread. The panel is mounted, glazed and framed.
