Each bowl is decorated in various shades of cobalt blue above a band of moulded lotus petals with cartouches enclosing different animals qilin, phoenix bird, deer and other birds perched amongst trees. The interiors each with central roundel enclosing peonies blossoming branches growing from ornamental rocks, a band of floral sprigs below the foliate rims.
