The box and cover are well-potted in a pecan-shape with foliate rims. The cover is decorated at the center with a Tai Chi symbol along with corresponding Ba Gua Zhang, enclosed by a meandering famille rose motif of lotus flowers on scrolling stems, and a border of conjoining ruyi-heads, reserved on a light turquoise enamel ground. The sides of the box and the cover are decorated with a border of floral motifs outlined in gilt, against a turquoise enamel ground with four Qianlong character mark to the base.
