A CHINESE SPLASHED JUNYAO DOUBLE GOURD VASE, SONG DYNASTY ( 960-1279)

The elegant double gourd vase tapering to a small slender neck, standing on a short foot, all under a thick bubble-suffused greyish-blue glaze decorated with two purple splashes darkening around the rim. The thick glaze stops just above the foot ring to reveal the body beneath.
