A CHINESE HENAN BOWL, SONG DYNASTY (960-1279)

A Henan bowl of thickly potted conical form, the sides springing from a broad, knife-pared footrim and contracted at the rim, covered with black glaze with overall brownish speckling and five rust splashes on the interior, glaze falling short of the base on the underside showing the buff body.
Height: 7.5 cm.
Diameter: 18.5 cm.
